Tombs-Day Special: The ABCs of Cemeteries - Part 1

A for Angel
Angels are a popular symbol for obvious reasons. They provide beautiful, comforting imagery and have strong biblical ties as guardians and messengers between heaven and earth.

B for Bench
Benches can be found throughout cemeteries. They offer visitors a place to sit during quiet moments of remembrance or simple appreciation of the stillness and beauty around them. Benches may be traditional benches you would see in a park, but in some cases individuals have chosen to make a granite bench that doubles as a headstone and grave-marker.

C for Cross
The cross is likely one of the most commonly seen symbols in cemeteries. Sometimes a headstone may have a cross engraved on it or the headstone itself may be in the shape of a cross. The cross is known world-wide for its representation in religions rooted in Christianity.
